This article is based upon my recent engagement and how I reacted to my fiance asking me the question I've been wanting to hear for four years.

Getting Engaged
Getting engaged had to have been the most wonderful experience I've endured in my life so far. It happened January 25, 2009 at 8:58 pm. It was a normal Sunday evening, my boyfriend and I were watching TV and playing with our puppy Coach. I had been begging Darryl to give me hints on my anniversary gift since it was fast approaching on the 1st of February.

He decided that we would play a game. Not just any game but a game where I had to solve riddles. He explained for each riddle I got right, it would knock off a day and the sooner I would get my gift. Well me being overly excited I accepted the deal and went about solving these hard riddles. There were two out of the seven that I was stuck on. I started to become really frustrated at the thought of not answering these riddles because I wanted my gift. It took me over two hours to figure it out. I was beyond excited. I had no clue what I was about to get but I knew it had to be good. Darryl told me to hold tight and sit on the couch with the puppy, so I was sitting there for several minutes wondering what was going on.

All of a sudden I hear him falling and screaming. I thought to myself "Oh NOOOOO" I got up running through the apartment to see if he was ok because by the sound of it, it wasn't good. When I turned the corner Darryl was on his knee with a ring box in his hand. I couldn't do anything but smile. I could hardly hear him ask me because I was beyond shocked and amazed at the beauty of the ring.

After he placed the ring on my finger I started screaming and running up and down the hallway of our apartment trying to figure out who I was going to call. I will never forget the day that my fiancé asked me to marry him.
