Love, as most romantics say, is a many splendored thing. As the famous song goes: “Love is nature's way of giving a reason to be living. The golden crown that makes a man a king…”.
Love: Is it a many splendored thing or splintered thing?
How beautiful love is meant to be! But how come in some cases, love seems to be a many splintered thing? Many a heart has been broken and splintered countless times by this thing called Love. Others would say that love only brought them boredom.
Why is this so? I can only dare to guess that people express their love in so many ways. Some love turns possessive, suffocating the happiness of the other party. When a lover becomes jealous, he resorts to physical abuse just to gain control over the situation. How ironical that a loved one is now a victim of abuse from the very person who claims to love her with all his heart. There are also some men who think that loving simply means agreeing to everything and letting the other party decide on anything. That is not good either. Love here will be boring and eventually wither.
So, how can Love thrive and be that many splendored thing as acclaimed by love struck, starry eyed hopefuls? Well, for one thing, a person must have a kind heart to be a great lover. There is no way for love to bloom and for love to bring such great joy to a person, unless that love is kind, caring and thoughtful. One could be a faithful partner, that is no one else in his or her life, but if he or she doesn't see love with kindness and gentleness, then love isn't real.
For love to bring sunshine into one's world, it must be selfless and cheerful. When two people are in love, they are always happy and have that wonderful feeling of completeness with each other. True love can only mean that. This is the love that brings comfort and confidence to a loved one. When you find that person who can make you be your best and who can make your smile even in the worst day, then you have found true love.
In true love, there are no secrets, no malice nor ill intentions. True love uplifts, it inspires and it understands. It will never intend to hurt nor humiliate you. It will not betray your trust nor should it demean you. In true love, you are soothed with peaceful and harmonious moments. You can weather any storm and any gloomy day for you know there is someone loving you and believing in you. True love is an enablerit can make you soar reaching your dreams and aspirations. It is indeed a many splendored thing!
