Being married for almost four years is a big deal. We decided to focus on learning about each other before we start with anything else such as children. As time goes by with no distraction and nothing to keep us from learning about each other, the relationship becomes overwhelmingly good. Disagreements becomes less and there is more space for love and upliftment. Criticism was most times present in the first two years or so but as we learn about the dislikes of each other, we try to use more positive critics and words that will build each other but we are still being honest.
Marriages can be scary but it can also be a fun time with a person who will eventually be your best friend. I have heard older folks saying that communication is the key, and they are so right. When we speak, its not just about how our day is going but what is on our minds, it really helps us to feel comfortable around each other.
We went out one evening to play billiard and to just have fun. Beside our pool table was a very attractive young lady who was bending over to try and knock her ball into a hole. It's all a part of the game to stretch so at this point, my husband came over to me and whispered in my ear ¨C Don't look behind you yet but there is a girl in a green top and she is rocking hot- I said ok trying to find the right
moment to glance at who he was talking about. I managed somehow to get the white ball on the table in the perfect position so I could turn around. As my eyes landed on the girl in the green, it was full confirmation about her being hot. How did I feel about this you may wonder. The truth be told, very proud. I did not feel disrespected that my husband was finding other girl attractive.
Whether we are married or not, he is still a human being and I know that it is normal to find the opposite sex attractive. It was nice to know that my husband could share such a moment with me and not expect a slap in his face or no sex for a few days. One thing that I have learned as a wife is to let my husband feel comfortable around me by giving him space, freedom and not try to control his every move. He is capable of doing the right things so just let him be. It happens too often that husbands wish for some alone time because the wife is too much in control of practically everything.
'Wives, ease up and let your husbands be. If he wants to drink his coffee while sitting on the toilet, it is not hurting you and it won't have any impact on your marriage. Just let him drink his coffee. I have had so many interesting experiences that seem to help my marriage get better. I am loving it and my friends admire my life. It's a blessing to have a great relationship in the first four years of marriage and it is getting better.
