One of the biggest controversial topics over history is same sex marriages. If you have been watching the news, you will see that President Bush is trying to veto gay marriages. I have asked many people their thoughts on this issues and got very different results. I have noticed that the older generation said that it\'s not right for two people of the same sex to get married. It goes against the traditional views and what our country was \"found\" on. What the heck does that mean \"found on\"? Our country should change some views as society changes. Do we not change what the economy needs as time changes? Do we not change our views on different topics with time? Then why not change how we feel about gay marriages. Another view is thats not what God wanted from humans. When I say God, I mean whatever being you believe in like Buddha, God, etc. It says in the Bible( or whatever book you might read) that God meant a women and a man to be together thats why our Lord made women from a mans rib. Don\'t get me wrong I am Christian but I also don\'t agree with any one religion. I believe a religion is more of a guideline. I think its common sense what the Bible states and its how to be a good person. I think people might hide behind religion because they are afraid of what the changes might bring. Religion says you shall not judge one another so why do people who are religious criticize one another or judge when its clearly against religion. I am not hear to say what is wrong or right, just what people said when I asked them. What ever happened to the separation between church and state? How come one can control something more then another? Anyways I could go on forever when it deals with why homosexual marriages are \"wrong\".Now, what do people say when it comes to why it should be OK? Its best said in the show \"Family Guy\" when the mom says, \" why is it alright for two straight people to get married and not love each other when two gay people love each other but cant get married\" If two people love each other should it matter what sex they are? Its like saying that two white people, two blacks, two Asians, can\'t get married because the race they are! That would never be allowed, so why is forbidding gay marriages right? I have seen gay couples who are so happy while straight couples are miserable. It is their right to be married! Why should couples have to travel to other states to get married? That is against our civil rights, is it not? What shouldn\'t homosexual people have the same rights as heterosexual people? Gays can adopt kids, do almost anything but get married? Don\'t you think its better when kids get adopted to have married parents regardless of their orientation? My personal opinion is gays should be able to marry because I want people to be happy;-)
