Dating... my way!

Dating.. as defined by a single mom
<p class="\"MsoNormal\"" style="" 0in="" 0pt;="" text-align:="" justify\="">Dating!<span style="" yes\=""> My definition of the word used to be going out with an interesting man and getting to know him.<span style="" yes\=""> The key word was <b style="" normal\="">going out.

<p class="\"MsoNormal\"" style="" 0in="" 0pt;="" text-align:="" justify\="">Nowadays
as a single mom of one very mischievous and possessive 4 yr old boy
going out alone -read without him tagging along-- is nearly
impossible!!!<span style="" yes\=""> Going to the potty with my
little man banging on the door to hurry up a minute after I go in is a
daily occurrence. Several times I went out with my friends after I put
my son to bed and every time<span style="" yes\=""> he will wake
up at 11 pm and start calling me on my mobile and demand that I go home
pronto!. He refuses to go back to sleep until I come home.<span style="" yes\=""> So what was I going to do? It’s been 4 yrs since I have enjoyed a private conversation with an interesting guy.<span style="" yes\=""> I miss laughing and being flattered by a guy.<span style="" yes\=""> It's not enough I guess that your son adores you and thinks that you are the most beautiful woman in the world.<span style="" yes\=""> Part of me wants some male attention, from an adult one! <span style="" wingdings;="" mso-ascii-font-family:="" mso-hansi-font-family:="" \="" times="" new="" roman\="" ;="" mso-char-type:="" symbol;="" mso-symbol-font-family:="" wingdings\=""><span style="" symbol;="" mso-symbol-font-family:="" wingdings\="">

<p class="\"MsoNormal\"" style="" 0in="" 0pt;="" text-align:="" justify\="">So
lately I have been hanging out in chatrooms where adults are interested
in finding a chatmate that can talk about varied interests. I must
admit that half of the men online in those chatrooms are “jerks” thus
if you want to try it sometime my tip is never accept invitation to
view their cams unless you are prepared to see something that you might
not want to see. <span style="" wingdings;="" mso-ascii-font-family:="" mso-hansi-font-family:="" \="" times="" new="" roman\="" ;="" mso-char-type:="" symbol;="" mso-symbol-font-family:="" wingdings\=""><span style="" symbol;="" mso-symbol-font-family:="" wingdings\="">

<p class="\"MsoNormal\"" style="" 0in="" 0pt;="" text-align:="" justify\="">I have found two wonderful men who have become my regular chatmates. One is younger than me by 9 years<span style="" yes\=""> --am
in my mid 30s so don’t worry I am no online child predator!!!
Hahahaha-- and we will call him Boylet as my girlfriend calls him and
the other a 48 yr old man who looks a little bit like Harrison Ford! <span style="" yes\=""> <span style="" yes\=""> So now I am dating! <span style="" wingdings;="" mso-ascii-font-family:="" mso-hansi-font-family:="" \="" times="" new="" roman\="" ;="" mso-char-type:="" symbol;="" mso-symbol-font-family:="" wingdings\=""><span style="" symbol;="" mso-symbol-font-family:="" wingdings\="">J Seeing two men – literally speaking since I DO SEE them on webcams! – and getting to know them.<span style="" yes\=""> This is an unusual <span style="" yes\=""> way
of dating I agree but it works for me. I get to have the male
conversation and attention I wish to have in the convenience and
security of my home.<span style="" yes\=""> The best part of it really is I don’t have to leave my son at night . I can chat away while he is sleeping.<span style="" yes\=""> Those
men and I may not be actually sharing meals but we sometimes eat
together only thing is he is eating on his table and I'm eating on
mine.<span style="" yes\=""> We sometimes sleep together too!! <span style="" wingdings;="" mso-ascii-font-family:="" mso-hansi-font-family:="" \="" times="" new="" roman\="" ;="" mso-char-type:="" symbol;="" mso-symbol-font-family:="" wingdings\=""><span style="" symbol;="" mso-symbol-font-family:="" wingdings\="">J
That is we leave our mics open and talk until we fall asleep together..
and again he in his bed and I in mine with my son beside me.

<p class="\"MsoNormal\"" style="" 0in="" 0pt;="" text-align:="" justify\="">So now dating has a new meaning to me it's no longer about going out it could now also mean staying in<span style="" yes\="">.<span style="" wingdings;="" mso-ascii-font-family:="" mso-hansi-font-family:="" \="" times="" new="" roman\="" ;="" mso-char-type:="" symbol;="" mso-symbol-font-family:="" wingdings\=""><span style="" symbol;="" mso-symbol-font-family:="" wingdings\=""><span style="" wingdings;="" mso-ascii-font-family:="" mso-hansi-font-family:="" \="" times="" new="" roman\="" ;="" mso-char-type:="" symbol;="" mso-symbol-font-family:="" wingdings\=""><span style="" symbol;="" mso-symbol-font-family:="" wingdings\="">

Meeting my Online Friend

When Sunshine Meets NotJustAny1

Long time ago when I was younger and childless, I was a young carefree single lady who got hooked on the internet! My desire to go to dance club in wherever city I traveled was replaced by my desire and need to visit the nearest internet cafe. At that time I spent almost all my free time browsing, emailing, chatting and playing on the net. Back then I had to go to the internet cafes which would charged between PHP 50-150 an hour. So it was no surprise that I eventually met a guy on the net. He was NotJustAny1 to my Sunshine! Our ids at ICQ ! :) He was a Dutch guy! He was tall and tall and TALLl! :) The only thing I looked for in guy when I was in my 20's was the height!! :) I am so particular with a man's height that I think God would eventually give me short guy!! :) hahahahhaa.. He was 3 years younger than me and was working in a bicycle company as a purchasing manager.

We started out as friends. He had a live in gf at the time we met and I eventually had a bf myself. We had a great time chatting, then emailng then texting and eventually calling. That is why even when I was in Aparri admiring the huge waves crashing on the shores my mind was not in Taiwan which according to my friend was just a few miles away from where we were. My mind was drifting off to the Netherlands and where to find the nearest cafe to check my email. Wherever I was I had to find a cafe to communicate with Mr Dutch. And he in kind whether he was traveling in Europe or Asia he would always find time to update me of his activities. He had a laptop and I didn't so the cafe became my most favorite and happiest place for me at that time. Eventually we became closer and after we broke up with our respective partners we decided to meet.

It was 2000 and the initial plan was for him to come here and visit me but thanks to Abu Sayaf I was able to go to Europe instead! ;-) He got alarmed when the ASG kidnapped foreigners so he paid for everything so I can go and meet with him in his country. Traveling alone and meeting a "stranger" would have scared most girls but I was fearless --and some would say stupid!! haahhhaha-- then and so thrilled to go to Europe!! If I may be truthful I think unconsciously I was more excited to see France and Spain than him. hahahaha! :)Why did I do that? Why travel half way across the globe to meet a guy I haven't really seen in person? First of all I had known him for almost two years. We have been constantly in touch thru emails, post, phone and cellphone even fax! He has spoken to my mom , sis and even our dogs! :) So I knew that he was a decent person so it was safe to go. Second we wanted to find out if we click in person as much as we did on chat and all. Third I really wanted to travel to Europe since I read a book on Jose Rizal's travels I have always dream of traveling too tho I never thought it was possible! :) But I should have known that after visiting Rizal's detention cell in Fort Santiago, Bagumbayan and his house in Dapitan I would eventually see Barcelona and parts of France like he did :) --Thank God thou death by firing squad is no longer in vogue I'd hate to follow him in that direction!! :) --- Fourth The opposition and warnings from a few of my friends that he could be lunatic made the lunatic side of me even more determined than ever to prove them wrong. I thought that going through with it would show them that he wasn't and that I was right! .And so in August of that year I boarded a plane that took me to Amsterdam. It was funny the way we met at the airport. I suddenly became a little shy and tried to hide behind a huge column and peek to check how he looked like. When we saw each other and he smiled I kinda like the real smile so I came out of my "hiding place" and went out to meet him. The time we spent together in that one sunny but windy summer in Europe was one of the best memories I will ever have in my lifetime. We clicked! And we had the great time clubbing, visiting a chateau, hanging out, eating and other things! :) But alas he was no prince charming and I wasn't Cinderella or sleeping Beauty and thou there was no evil witch still the tale didn't end in happily ever after. After so much crying and promises to be together again at the airport and on the phone --- both of us were crying!! hahahahaha--- months after the relationship broke apart and he never did call me after our last argument! :(( I couldn't pinpoint one major reason for our eventual parting however it was just everything the pressure from work, jealousy, various events and well with my shortcomings as well. I have my moments wherein I'm far from being Ms Congeniality more so when I'm about to have my period. I'm afraid he saw too much of that side! I must admit that my tantrums and mood swings -- read: PMS wish men would have this to understand what we go through ladies!!!---- did help and contribute a lot to the death of the affair. I wept and was sad for some time but eventually move on. :) A few days ago I found printed emails from him. Reading them made me laugh and smile. He was really funny , witty and smart.-- Tall and handsome too I was looking at our pictures just before I wrote this.--I am glad that I retained these few emails coz even when the loving feeling is gone the good memories still remains in my heart!

What does love mean?

You may probably read this widely circulated email in which the source is unknown. It was said there that a
group of professional people posted this question "What does love mean?" to a group of 4 to 8
years old. The answers they got were broader and
deeper than anyone could have imagined. See what you think:

"Love is what makes you smile when you're tired."
Terri - age 4

"When
my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her
toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all even when his
hands got arthritis, too. That's Love."
Rebecca - age 8

"Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other."
Karl - age 5

When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth."
Billy - age 4

"Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French Fries without making them give you any of theirs."
Chrissy - age 6

"Love
is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you
still want to be together and you talk more. My Mommy and Daddy are
like that. They look gross when they kiss."
Emily - age 8

"Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK."
Danny - age 7

"Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen."
Bobby - age 7 (Wow!)

"Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears iteveryday."
Noelle - age 7

"If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate."
Nikka - age 6

"Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well."
Tommy - age 6

"My mommy loves me more than anybody. You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night."
Clare - age 6

"During
my piano recital, I was on a stage and I was scared. I looked at all
the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling. He was the
only one doing that. I wasn't scared anymore."
Cindy - age 8

"Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken."
Elaine-age 5

"Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day."
Mary Ann - age 4

"Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford."
Chris - age 7

"I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her oldclothes and has to go out and buy new ones."
Lauren - age 4

"Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's gross."
Mark - age 6

"When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you"
Karen - age 7

"You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget."
Jessica - age 8

And
the final one -- Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about
contest he was asked to judge. The purpose of the contest was to find
the most caring child. (Now this will melt your heart.) The winner was
a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman
who had recently lost his wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy
went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat
there. When his Mother asked him what he had said to the neighbor, the
little boy said, "Nothing, I just helped him cry."

One of my favorite books is the Just A Moment by Fr. Jerry Orbos. His book contains personal stories, anecdotes, jokes and reflections he has shared through the years. I make it a point to read at least one of his stories a day before going to bed as my way of feeding my soul. And one that really hit me lately that I would like to share to everyone is his "Your Move" entry. It's a great reminder for couples, families, or friends who seem to have lost the warmth and that loving feeling to take a cue from the text message "Rearrange the letters of the phrase "WE SAT THERE", and you will come out with a beautiful word of endearment."

Do you know what word is that? Need a clue? The clue there is that you make your move. Don't just sit there. Be a SWEETHEART again.

My partner and I are currently in a long distance relationship. We either talk or exchange text messages when we wake up, while having short breaks, lunch time, after work and before we go to bed.
We're doing this every day, so despite our distance, we can feel , we are not out of mind! We're doing this for almost two years now. And since we are not out of
mind, our absence did make our hearts grow fonder! :D Not only these "communication things" but of course the trust that we have for each other is really a great impact too why our relationship is still alive. We also make sure that we let each other feel that we are near no matter how far we are by sending
emails, hand-written love letters, flowers or just anything . Our creativity efforts also make our bonding more
special and interesting. Another thing that spice up and solidify our relationship is our occasional reunion. :D

So how about you, do you believe too that absence makes the heart grow fonder?

Would it be the financial, emotional, physical or personality aspects of your partner?
